What is Integrative Psychotherapy?

To me, integrative psychotherapy is both a science and an art, an intersubjective space where mind, body, and soul come into dialogue, in the service of healing, learning, and psychospiritual growth. It is a collaborative process of two people who build trust, safety, and genuine regard within a working relationship, and together explore what brings depth, meaning, and transformation.

Integration is not just about blending methods or techniques. It is about bridging cultures in a broader sense, within us, between us, and in the world at large, through presence, intrapsychic, interpersonal, and collective awareness, supported by dialogue.

My theoretical orientation is informed by feminist and multicultural psychologies, psychosynthesis that is closely aligned to depth, existential, humanistic, and transpersonal psychologies, and shaped by fifteen years of clinical experience with adults. It continues to evolve as I explore how psychology, philosophy, spiritual and wisdom traditions, neuroscience, and quantum physics together illuminate the mystery of consciousness and the complexities of human experience.

When therapeutic treatment is needed for a mental disorder, I draw upon evidence-based modalities, such as Interpersonal Process Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy, while honoring each person’s wholeness and innate capacity for healing.
